I have been apart of The Peony Project for just a smidgen amount of time but I already loved every minute of it so far! Today is the first of a monthly Link Up and the prompt is: Community. Disclaimer: Not the TV show, Community.
I recently wrote about Community from a Biblical stand point. My Pastor had preached on Community and it really resonated with me. So - go read that if you just can't get enough of thoughts on Community.
Here's the thing. I love Community. I crave Community. I just always want to be in Community. I have a really hard time watching TV or movies with people because I would rather get-to-freakin'-know-ya! (that's a thing - I swear) I want to know your hopes, dreams, fears, strengths, funny, stories etc! I want to know it all. So instead I looove to play BOARD GAMES. mmhmm - yes. oh and I really love Catch Phrase!
The good news is: I have community!
Blogging: I love blogging because I have found such an encouraging community - people are very positive and kind. I have loved being apart of this!
Church: I love my church because there is such a great community of people that are ready and willing to meet each others needs and be a friend if they need it.
Family: I just have the best family, I also married into the best family. I know I am so lucky a lot of people do not have as good of a relationship with their families. My family - even extended to my cousins - is super close. We don't hang out all the time, but when we do get together it is like nothing ever changed. We all laugh and (play board games!)
Friends: I love my friends - I have amazing friends.
Community, to me, is vital. I don't know if that is dramatic. But I really believe it is. Listen, folks, God in His very nature is Communal. He is 3 in 1. The Trinity. That is built in Community.
So those are my thoughts. Now I want to know your thoughts. Does Community mean as much to you as it does to me? Do you belong to a great Community???
Community is everything! I have enjoyed getting to know you and bouncing ideas off of you lol. I can't wait to start my new yoga practice soon! You are truly an inspiration and you are so right community is vital. xoxo!
ReplyDeleteI live in the country where people are few & far between, but they are great community - take care of each other. It makes a difference
ReplyDeleteI love what you said about the Trinity. So true...and for introverts like me, it shows that only 3 is ok! I don't need a hundred of anything! :) Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this!
ReplyDeletesuch a great post! community is so important. I love this little blogging community, and I'm so glad it's led me to you. <3 Board games are my absolute favorite. Sadly my hubby isn't a fan, but my family loves them! Clue is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteDo you love the TV show though? :P
ReplyDeleteThe blogging community is awesome, isn't it? I've honestly been so surprised at how beneficial it's been!
Just bouncing over here from Besty's post...I see you're a Michigander too?! Me too:) My husband and I live in Northville-a suburb of Detroit
ReplyDeleteSo awesome! So thankful for the community of Jesus!!!! Such an important aspect of the Christian walk! If Jesus walked with 12 disciples, shouldn't we too? ;)
ReplyDeleteHaving a community is wonderful! I love all my blog friends I have made too!

I love having multiple communities! Each brings a whole new light to my life and enrich it in some way, shape, or form! I love board games but I also love watching TV and movies so I'm a mixed bag of nuts! :)
ReplyDeleteOh thank you, Laura! I can't wait to hear about how much you LOVE yoga, i just know you will! :)

ReplyDeleteHI Patty! I know Northville! I've been there once or twice! I grew up in Rochester - do you know where that is? Now I live in Grand Blanc, a suburb of Flint!
ReplyDeletethat's a great point, too! Jesus didn't choose to do his ministry alone, and we should always look to Him on how to live our lives. great point!
ReplyDeleteThe blogging community is SOO great!
ReplyDeletehaha I do enjoy TV but no one likes watching it with me because I would just rather talk through it. so glad this community lead me to you!
ReplyDeleteI watched all of it while it was airing, but I wasn't *obsessed* with it like a lot of people who watched were!
ReplyDeletegotcha I don;t think it's all that great. its funny but not obsess worthy
ReplyDeleteOh me too, I crave ommunity. When I let it get away from me I always get into a rut. I need it and strive for it. I love how blogging is one in itself. We are all looking for the same thing.
