Nursery Inspiration

I am getting suuuper excited to start getting the nursery ready. The current office is where the baby will reside. It is currently a super cool teal-y color. If you look at my bump pics you can sometimes catch a glimpse.

I want the room theme to be Michigan. NOT as in the University of, I am more of a State girl myself. But as in the state of Michigan. Flint, Detroit, maybe some Tigers in there.

As far as colors if it is girl I want to add gold and coral to the teal. Or if it is a boy I would like to add navy and maybe a light green. I am unsure. I would like a dresser/changing table that is a pop of color.... so much to think about

We really need to finish the basement and move the piano out and then it is game on, nursery!

Here as some visuals of what I am thinking for the nursery I am thinking:

Kona's First Fourth of July

Last time I talked to you it was the 4th of July. I want to tell you a story about the day before the 4th. We went for a walk around the neighborhood, and all of a sudden WE WERE UNDER FIRE! I instantly froze to assess where the shots were coming from. With the tall trees surrounding us it was nearly impossible. It seemed to be coming at us from every angle. With every explosion of terror I ran faster and faster. Mom and Dad were in shock and just began laughing. I knew it was up to me to get the family to safety.

After what seemed like a lifetime, I got my bearings and pointed us in the direction of our barracks. Mother and Father could not keep up with me in their delusional state. My paws dug deeper and deeper into the pavement, my eyes fixed on the horizon, I knew I had to get to headquarters, and I knew I would - it was my only option.

There seemed to be a cease fire, The Lord had heard my cries, I assessed Mom and Dad's state, took a short bathroom break and caught my breath. Then the attack continued again at full force. Mother and Father went in a deeper state of shock. I knew the situation was getting more dire by the second, I looked up and saw we were still 4 houses away from the barracks, normally a 10 minute leisurely stroll when you account smelling each mailbox post, 2 pee breaks, and bird watching. But not today, dang it, this day was about survivin'!

As we rounded the corner into our driveway, oh blessed sanctuary, I begin to panic, I began to call out to mom to open the garge doors. She could not get the code to work, and I cursed god for not giving me opposable thumbs!

At long last we made it into safety. I ran inside and collapsed in exhaustion. Mother and Father continued life as usual, completely unaware that I had just saved their very lives. Though, in retrospect, it is a blessing that they don't remember the terror that surrounded them. It has made me a better dog but they haven't been hardened by the streets, their sunny disposition remains.
Ok, I am working really hard to get more posts out to you guys. I have been working on this one everyday since the last post. Man, those typing lessons are not paying off at all, I am still typing at a one word/day pace. I might have mom transpose my posts from here on out.

Until next time,

5 Things I Can't Live Without

Hello friends! Greetings with Beautiful Hawaii! (well, technically I am writing this from a gloomy Michigan but I am just assuming it going to be beautiful) I like to write "5 things" posts on Fridays even though I don't always link them up. Today I am going to write about 5 Things I can NOT live without!

Disclaimer: These are not in order and there are plenty of things I need more (food, shelter, salvation, grace, etc)

One -
My Family - they are the bomb diggity.

Two - my Sinus Rinse Kit - if you've mentioned being stuffed or having allergies, drainage or anything of the sort - I have probably suggested you get one of these miracle workers.

Three - Anchors - I wrote all about there here

Four - My Ninja Blender - without which I would not be able to get my 3 vegetable servings a day

Five - My Snooze Button - much to Philip's dismay I use this baby 3-4 times a day

What are some things you can't live without??

Fall into His Love Devotional Journal

I was contacted by Kayla from The Creative Jayne to do a review on one of her devotional journals. I was so excited to be able to do this for her! First you guys, she is so sweet! ALLL of her stuff is so cute I love it all! Second, I super duper dug this devotional!
Each day has a passage of scripture for you to read. I really liked this because it gave me another reason to pull out my actual Bible instead of having it on my phone or on my computer. I love my Bible app but there is something so much personal about underlining with an actual pen in an actual Bible.
Each day, usually on my work break, I would pull out my devotional and Bible and spend some time with The Lord. I am going to be honest, before this my Bible reading was hit or miss. Usually because I just didn't know where to start. The Bible is so big and so full of so much goodness that I get intimidated.

Each verse was chosen for me with care. All of the verses had a theme: LOVE. The Love of God is so huge you guys. It really is just overwhelming to me. Each day I would read the verses and the devotional sentences that echoed my thoughts; essentially: "whoa"

I started reading the devotional for a review - but I found myself looking forward to it everyday. I would be refreshed and encouraged. The second page has a journal prompt and a space for journaling. So handy. So many thoughts to write down.

I want to say thank you again to Kayla for allowing me to review her devotional journal! I couldn't encourage you enough to get this book or one of her other ones! It is so, so worth it my friend!
You can get it and some of her other adorable items at here store, here

What is your favorite devotional? Have you ever done a devotional journal? What did you like or not like about it?

5 Things I Love About Spring

They tell me it is Spring, but I don't exactly believe them. Here in Michigan it is in the 20's, 30's and 40's. Last week it snowed on Friday.

"But sometimes I like to close my eyes and imagine what it’ll be like when summer does come."

I am trying not to look too far into the future so I am going to talk about my 5 Favorite Things about our current season, Spring!

1) Baseball Season! Baseball is finally back in the spring

2) Getting to finally drive with the windows down

3) Easter! I firmly believe Easter celebrates one of the most important days in history. The day Jesus rose from the dead and conquered death.

 4) Spring Clothes!

5) Getting to go for bike rides and be outside without the air hurting me

I loooove Spring, not as much as I love Summer and Fall but I love Spring! And in just two short days I am Hawaii bound!

What are your favorite things about Spring? Anything I missed? How is the weather in your neck of the woods?

Thankful Thursday

There are soo many little things in life to be thankful for. So many things I skip over all the time. Today I want to share things I am thankful for lest I forget.

ONE - Beverly Lewis.
Author of my favorite Amish Fiction books OF ALL TIME. This woman has written so many wonderful books and I want to read them all!

TWO - Lazy Saturdays!
Once a month-ish Philip and I don't plan anything on a Saturday and we do juuuust about nothing. We relax, watch Netflix, workout, maybe blog, but ultimately we are of no help to society that day and I love it.

THREE- My Lion's Sweatpants
Ever since I got these in September I pretty much wear them everyday

FOUR - Spearmint gum - SO good

FIVE- Pedicures. I love. getting Pedicures! Shout out to my awesome mother-in-law for taking me to get a mani/pedi this past weekend
SIX - Ice cream

SEVEN - Blue Skies even on cold "Spring" days

EIGHT- Coffee shops

NINE - YOU

What are you thankful for this week?

April Goals

I thought about starting this post with some fake something because it is April Fools day but I couldn't think of anything so... I didn't. Womp Womp.

It is the start of another month! yay! Which means it is time for an update on last month's goals and a time to set new ones for this month.

1. Finish 2 books DID NOT EVEN CRACK A BOOK OPEN
2. Read my devotional from Creative Jayne!   Look for a review coming up in the new few weeks
3. Do 21 Day Fix again I did it again! I was not as strict this time around! I ate healthy 80/20 I would say and I worked out everyday except for a few and there were some days I worked out 3 times. I for suree saw results - I might post a picture of them, haven't decided.
4. Take measurements for my eShakti dress  I did this, and I even got my dress delivered. I think I measured wrong because it is like ginormous on me. But I will be posting my review of that sometimes after I get home from Hawaii.
5. Blog 4x/week There were a few weeks I only posted twice, but I don't ever want to force content - read about how I came to peace with this here

April Goals:
1) Have an amazing time in Hawaii
2) Read at least 1 full book in Hawaii
3) Schedule posts for when I am in Hawaii
4)Have coffee with a friend, any friend!

Do you have any goals for April?? How do you plan on achieving them?
