Nursery Inspiration

I am getting suuuper excited to start getting the nursery ready. The current office is where the baby will reside. It is currently a super cool teal-y color. If you look at my bump pics you can sometimes catch a glimpse.

I want the room theme to be Michigan. NOT as in the University of, I am more of a State girl myself. But as in the state of Michigan. Flint, Detroit, maybe some Tigers in there.

As far as colors if it is girl I want to add gold and coral to the teal. Or if it is a boy I would like to add navy and maybe a light green. I am unsure. I would like a dresser/changing table that is a pop of color.... so much to think about

We really need to finish the basement and move the piano out and then it is game on, nursery!

This is the last week of my 1st trimester!! I am looking really forward to finding out the gender of the baby and having the energy to clean my house again!

Show Me Your Town - Earth Day

Hello, Friends! I have been away from you for so long! As most of you know I was in Hawaii for 12 days! The trip was amazing and I can't wait to tell you about it! When I came home I was fighting a major cold that is still kicking my butt! That, topped with a jet leg, I have been out of commission from blog land! Today Amanda and I from Amanda Moments  are hosting and co-hosting respectively a link up of Show Me Your Hometown! I love Michigan and where I live so I jumped at the chance to do this link up! Thank you, again, Amanda for allowing me to co-host with you!

Earth Day is April 22nd so this month's theme is the environment/ weather/ climate.  I hope you will join us this month and link your post at the bottom!

As I previously mentioned I am from Michigan. I have primarily lived in the Metro Detroit Area my whole life, though as a kid most of my memories were etched in Northern Michigan, or as local people say "Up North". The line at which part of the state is considered Up North varies person to person, town to town, or county to county. Where I spent long summer days and chilly summer nights around bonfires was on the shores of Crystal Lake in Frankfort, Michigan.

Most people from Michigan have a lot of Michigan pride, we love our Tigers, our fresh water lakes, our Vernor's and our Summers.

Personally, my favorite part about Michigan are the lakes. We are the Great Lakes State. Not only are we a Mitten surrounded by the Great Lakes (Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, and Superior) we have more than 11,000 inland lakes! That is A LOT of lakes, a LOT of fresh water, and a LOT of beauty.

This time of year, Spring, Michiganders are coming out of their winter holes, pulling out their shorts, flip flops and starting to remember why we live here. Interstate -75 North will soon be jam packed every Friday afternoon as everyone flocks Up North with their boats racing behind their vehicles, anxiously awaiting the first day it is warm enough to launch the boat! Soon 75 South on Sunday afternoons will be a complete stand still as Metro Detroiters hesitantly head back home after weekends of boating, camping, bonfires, and taking in breathtaking views.

I now live in a town that ironically does not have any lakes. I didn't think it was possible to have an entire town without lakes. But my heart belongs to Michigan's Lakes. I grew up on a small lake, not quite big enough for motor boats but plenty big enough to get stuck in the middle with a canoe.

I pledged my life to Philip on the Shore of Deer Lake, which will not always hold a special place in my heart. Not only did I become a Mrs. on the lake, but I learned to wake board! I look forward to bringing future children here and teaching them how to swim, just steps away from where we got married!

My hometown is technically Rochester, Michigan, but I can't say that in good conscience. My hometown is divided into three bodes of water that will always feel like home to me. Crystal Lake, Deer Lake, and Tamarack Lake.

Christmas Decorations

Merry Christmas! Ho Ho Ho! Holly Jolly!

I have had my Christmas decorations up for almost a month already. No shame, I am not sorry. I love Christmas. It is the most wonderful time of the year. Christmas lights are beautiful. Christmas trees are festive. Christ came as a baby to save us, the course of History was changed. And 25 days is NOT enough to change that! Nope, not one bit. So, since I love Christmas, and my little home. I am combining those things with a tour of Christmas decorations! 

I got this sign when my mom and mother-in-law and I went up to a friend's house and we stopped at this little country store filled wall to wall with Christmas decorations. xoxo

My sweet cousin, Vanessa, from Germany sent me this last year for my Christmas gift! This is straight from the Motherland!! He actually blows smoke out of his mouth from his little pipe. This is one of my favorite Christmas decorations, ever. 

Every year when I was growing up my mom would get each of us kids an ornament that held special meaning from the previous year or the coming year. This year Philip and I went to Bronner's and picked out an ornament for each other. Philip got me this road trip ornament because we are going to road trip to Florida this year!

We got these two last year because, well, we got married. The second one says "The Piasecki's Est 2013" It is so beautiful and perfect!!

This is the ornament I got Philip this year because, you see, he is a worship leader. So it's clever.

My Mother in law MADE me this after I said I liked a similar one. She's the best MIL there has ever been. 

Everything I have with a snowman on it is from my mom. She has an extensive snowman collection and when she downsized to her condo I got a large dosage of her snowmen. These salt and pepper shakers always make me laugh because they fit together so funny. I'm 12. 

These was our first tree and this year a wonderful couple from church donated their tree to us. I put it up in our guest room. My cousin Vanessa is coming TODAY!!! and staying until Thursday and I can't wait! I wanted her room to be festive and welcoming. xoxox

Living Room - Home Tour!

I didn't get tagged in any sort of home tour post. I didn't get asked to show pictures of my house. 

That didn't stop me, no sir!  I just wanted to post a few pictures of my home! My hubs and I worked so hard to decorate it to show our personality and I am finally sorta good with it so I wanted to share!

If you ever came over to my house I would make you come in and sit on my impossibly comfy couches while I made you a cup of coffee or tea!

Maybe we would watch a movie or TV. Most likely, though, I would rather talk to you and chat.

This picture wall took hours to complete! But, I kinda love it.

My Mother in law painted these guitar pictures for Philip a while ago but I think they are awesome so I took them from his parents house and put them up in our house.

That's it! That's the extent of my living room! Small but cozy. Colorful but us.
